CONSULTING & STRATEGY

// A senior brain on retainer.

Sometimes the best dev work is convincing you not to do it. We do architecture reviews, tech-stack selection, technical due diligence, transformation roadmaps, and fractional CTO engagements when the in-house team needs a senior second opinion.

Common questions.

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] and we'll answer in the same business day.
Q.01
Do you take fixed-price engagements or only T&M?
Both. We default to fixed-price for well-scoped work and T&M for open-ended or research-y projects. After 17 years we are usually right about which is which — but it is always your call.
Q.02
Can you embed with our existing team?
Yes. Team augmentation is a real engagement model for us — we plug a senior or two into your standups, your repo, your Linear, and your processes. We do not bring our own coordinator.
Q.03
What is your minimum engagement?
$15k for a single-scope project; $8k/mo for retainers. We are deliberately not the cheapest option — but we also do not need to be the most expensive.
Q.04
Do you work on hourly contractor rates?
For fractional CTO and consulting engagements, yes. For build work, no — our cost model assumes a stable senior team, not a marketplace.
Q.05
Where are you based and what hours do you cover?
Houston, TX HQ + remote senior staff across US time zones. Default working hours are 9a–6p CT. We do not chase the sun.
Q.06
Will my client / customer know Effectdev exists?
Only if you want them to. Default is total white-label — your Slack, your domains, your meetings, your deploys. We sign whatever NDA you put in front of us.
